This course is offered with a Foundation Year in Social Sciences This foundation year is taught at the University giving you a taste of academic life in a supportive environment. The year gives you the academic and technical preparation for undergraduate study in a wide range of social sciences subjects. Lectures, labs and tutorials will give you a broad understanding across subjects including economics, criminology, sociology and psychology. About this course This degree has your future career in mind. It enables you to take the first steps to becoming a chartered psychologist. Your studies are supported by purpose-built research laboratories and psychological analysis equipment including eye trackers, a driving simulator, EEG (recording brain activity) and specialist survey software. Topics include schizophrenia, counselling and positive psychology, autism, cyberbullying and prejudice. You’ll be able to tailor your studies to suit your interests and ambitions. There are opportunities to participate in original research projects and you’ll be supported by research-active academics. Specialised work placements will give you direct work experience – much sought-after by graduate employers. Future Skills Embedded within every course curriculum and throughout the whole Kingston experience, Future Skills will play a role in shaping you to become a future-proof graduate, providing you with the skills most valued by employers such as problem-solving, digital competency, and adaptability. As you progress through your degree, you'll learn to navigate, explore and apply these graduate skills, learning to demonstrate and articulate to employers how future skills give you the edge.
