Course summary

BSc (Hons) Politics & International Relations with a Foundation Year and Year Abroad. Our Politics and International Relations degree will help you to develop the knowledge, understanding and skills to influence pressing political concerns: security, our environment, inequality and injustice, at home and abroad. You will be taught by experts in a stimulating and inclusive environment, where you will gain an understanding of the art and the science of politics, the behaviours, data, histories and philosophies associated with politics as an academic discipline and as a practice. Underpinning our teaching is the notion that politics is something that people do, a process by which we seek to have an impact on others, in a wide variety of arenas.  The foundation year helps you develop the study skills and self-confidence needed for higher education when you don’t reach the entry requirements for your subject, or you need a grounding in a new subject area. The year abroad option will give you the opportunity to apply to study for a year in one of our partner institutions as part of your degree. Spending time studying abroad is an excellent way to enrich your University experience and enhance your CV too, providing you with a competitive edge on completion of your studies
