Why do our school and university systems exist in their current form? How have successive governments helped shape the way in which we teach and train children and adults? This degree addresses questions such as these, as you explore the world of education through the prisms of history, sociology, philosophy and psychology. You will develop your understanding of the UK education system not only in its own right, but also in its European and global contexts, engaging with the thinkers and ideas that are at the forefront of current education policy and practice, tracing their evolution as they shaped the way we teach and learn in the 21st century.

Assessment method
The programme enables students to produce work for assessment in a range of different ways. From more traditional essays and class tests, through group-work and presentations, to the creation of websites, wikis, videos and blogs, the assessment strategies on this programme equip students with a host of communication skills that will serve them well in their future careers. There are no formal written examinations as part of the current assessment methods on this programme.

Qualification requirements
If you have a minimum of two A Levels (or equivalent), there is no maximum number of qualifications that we will accept UCAS points from. This includes additional qualifications such as Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), AS Levels that haven’t been continued to A Level, and General Studies AS or A Level awards.
