Photography (with Foundation) at University of Gloucestershire - UCAS

Course summary

Why an Integrated Foundation Stage? An Integrated Foundation Stage starts your degree studies with a year spent learning the skills required to progress onto a full honours degree. Alongside an introduction to Photography, you will develop valuable study skills, communication, team work and problem-solving techniques which help to build your confidence and prepare you for the rest of your course. Why Photography? Our Photography degree is a wide-ranging course, which allows you to explore the possibilities of photography as a creative medium and turn you passion into an exciting career path. You’ll examine still and moving photography, exhibition work, installations and curation, while developing expert technical and artistic skills along with a rich professional portfolio of work. With opportunities to gain experience with organisations such as Magnum in New York, Superdry, Photoworks Magazine, the Ashmolean Museum, the Whitechapel Gallery and Capture the Event photography (who covered the 2012 Olympics), our graduates stand out from the competition. There is even the chance to visit international festivals such as the Delhi Photo Festival and Paris Photo (additional costs may apply, see course web page for details). You’ll draw on the expertise of experienced lecturers, including award-winning photographers. Follow in the footsteps of previous students who have won international awards and make the most of our links with renowned galleries to showcase your own work. You’ll take advantage of dedicated photography facilities such as traditional wet darkroom processing labs, large studios, industry-standard computers and an extensive range of cameras, along with state-of-the-art software spanning all forms of image manipulation and film, video and animation. The course also benefits from affiliation with AOP (the Association of Photographers). Why University of Gloucestershire?
