The BSc (Hons) Business Management degree is delivered by Bayes Business School (formerly Cass), one of Europe’s leading business schools. The BSc (Hons) Business Management gives you a thorough understanding of the academic theory that exists around management as well as providing you with some professional experience which will make you an attractive candidate for employers when you graduate. This degree is designed for students who want to gain a broad understanding of the way organisations work and who want to gain practical experience in the area that interests them most. You will have the option to choose from a wide range of elective modules, which allows you to personalise your studies to suit your own interests. These include strategy, marketing, finance, operations management, accounting, people and organisations, ethics and corporate social responsibility, economics, business statistics and human resource management. You will also choose from a range of professional experience modules so that when you graduate you are equipped with the knowledge and experience to make you an attractive candidate to employers. You will also take a career-focused module suitable for your chosen course to help you prepare for entering the job market. This will develop analytical and problem-solving skills which can be applied across these different functions and you will understand why businesses are complex and how to navigate the issues created by this complexity. The Business Management degree provides a sound basis for a career in business management, management consultancy, or in areas including finance, stockbroking, marketing and IT. It also provides a firm grounding for students setting out as entrepreneurs. At Bayes we value sustainable, ethical business and we embed it into our curriculum. Our entire suite of undergraduate business management programmes have been created to ensure ethical, social, environmental, cultural, and economic considerations are central to your preparation as future leaders in business. The BSc (Hons) Business Management is available as a three-year degree, or four-year degree for those who wish to take up a one-year work placement sandwich option or to take a sandwich year studying abroad. The four-year degree offers excellent opportunities to gain relevant work experience to prepare you for your career, and to make contacts in the world of business. You also have the option to apply for a study abroad sandwich year at one of our highly-respected partner institutions across the world. In an increasingly globalised business environment this is excellent preparation. There are six BSc Business Management degree pathways taught at Bayes: BSc Business Management, BSc Business with Finance, BSc Business with Marketing, BSc Business Management with Social Purpose, BSc Business Management, Digital Innovation and Entrepreneurship and BSc International Business. At any time during the first-one-and-a-half years of the degree, students can switch to a different pathway, subject to the availability of places. Assessment method

Most modules on the Business Management degree are assessed by a combination of exams and coursework. The balance of assessment by coursework (assessed essays and assignments) unseen examinations and a final year project will to some extent depend on the optional modules you choose. The first year of your programme contributes 10% to your final degree classification, the second year 30% and the final year 60%. Percentage of the course assessed by coursework The approximate percentage of the course assessment, is as follows: Year 1 49% written, 51% coursework Year 2 70% written, 30% coursework Year 3 53% written, 47% coursework.

As a global institution, Bayes Business School aims to foster greater racial diversity in business. Therefore Bayes has launched a new scholarship for undergraduate black British students. We are offering ten scholarships for Black UK-domiciled undergraduate students from lower than average income households. Each scholarship covers the full tuition fee (at home-fee level) and a £6,000 annual stipend for three years. Scholarship holders will also be offered mentoring and support. The Bayes International Scholarship is awarded to students who achieve exceptional grades. The scholarship will be awarded as a discount in the fee amount due in the first year of their study only. City, University of London also offers scholarships for UK students who achieve exceptional grades.
