Course summary
This vocationally oriented course is specifically designed for those wishing to gain employment as biomedical scientists, either in industry or within the health sector. As such, it leads to a professionally recognised qualification, being externally approved by the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) and accredited by the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS). This means that when you have successfully completed the degree, you may become a registered biomedical scientist affiliated with the HCPC, after a one-year period of paid in-service training. Foundation Year courses have been designed for students who do not have the necessary academic qualifications needed to enter directly into the first year of a degree but who have the ability and commitment to do so.
