Why Applied Sport and Exercise Studies (Level 6)? Our Applied Sport and Exercise Studies (Level 6) course enables you to top up your existing Level 5 qualification (such as a foundation degree or HND) to a full honours degree. Throughout this online course you’ll be taught by our industry-experienced lecturers, and you’ll learn from current professional practitioners from a variety of sports setting. Building on your existing knowledge, you’ll explore the impact of sport on people’s lives, on our communities and on wider society. Optional modules enable you to tailor your study to your own particular passions and career ambitions, as you examine the planning and delivery of sports programmes and initiatives. With opportunities to build relevant experience on placements, with organisations such as Sport England, Youth Sports Trust, the Football Association, Gloucestershire Sport, Physical Activity Trust, local authorities and schools, our graduates stand out from the competition. You’ll draw on the expertise of experienced lecturers and learn from professional practitioners – previous guest speakers have included David Palmer, GB coach for under-23s deaf football, and representatives of UK Coaching. You can also take advantage of brand new sports facilities at our Oxstalls campus, including an international-standard sports arena, 3G pitches, dedicated pitches for rugby, hockey and football and a cricket pavilion and pitch. Modules
You'll focus on topics that interest you learning from experienced lecturers, including David Palmer, GB coach for under-23s deaf football, and notable guest speakers from Sports Coach UK. Your assessments include coursework, presentations, written examinations and placements. We support you to find work that suits your career aspirations. With links to Physical Activity Trust, local councils, Gloucester rugby, the Football Association and various schools, you'll advance professionally in the area of your choice.
