Course summary

This course provides an excellent opportunity for non-law graduates to study law at postgraduate level and to gain legal knowledge and transferable skills which will benefit you in the workplace and/or further study. You gain a grounding in key legal principles which will be applicable to you in your everyday live and future career. You develop recognised subject-specific knowledge and understanding, cognitive, intellectual, practical, professional and generic key skills and qualities. You engage and share ideas and experiences with a body of students from a wide range of levels and backgrounds through the shared teaching across this course. Prior to the start of the taught modules, you will be provided with pre-course reading on the English legal system and will receive some taught input in the induction period on the English legal system and legal research skills. Assessment method

Assessments include conventional essays, presentations, reflections and a dissertation. You will receive both formative and summative feedback on your work.


Entry requirements

Applicants should normally have a good honours degree (2.2 or above) from a UK university, or a non-UK equivalent qualification, or equivalent experience. Non-UK students must also meet the University's minimum English language requirements.
