Course summary
Biochemistry is the study of molecular structures and interactions in living organisms. Biochemists seek to understand living organisms in terms of chemical reactions. If you have a natural curiosity for science and a proven understanding of biology and chemistry, coupled with a desire to learn how science can be exploited for the benefit of mankind, then you have a fascinating career ahead of you. Biochemists are in great demand by employers. This degree will provide you with the knowledge and skills that employers want in medical and agricultural research, the pharmaceutical and other biotechnology industries, as well as in education. This programme includes an Integrated Masters the first three years of the programme are identical to the BSc Biochemistry C700. The final year involves additional training in research, including a 60-credit project and the option of an external internship, or of completing the whole year as an external industrial placement
