Course summary

Studying this course prepares you with a strong foundation of chemical engineering fundamentals and the ability to apply these to industry. This general stream allows you more choice in what you modules you study, allowing you to focus on your areas of interest. When you graduate, you'll be able to apply the concepts of sustainability, waste minimisation, clean technology and green chemistry to quantify the environmental impact of selected chemical engineering operations and design optimal strategies for pollution abatement. You'll learn through a mixture of taught modules and a research project. Your project can be carried out at Imperial, within industry or at an approved institution. The Department of Chemical Engineering offers four courses, with the opportunity to take a broad view or specialise in areas of chemical engineering in more depth.

Entry requirements

2:1 in engineering, physical sciences, mathematics, life sciences or biomedical sciences. We also accept a wide variety of international qualifications.
