Course summary

Psychology is the study of the mind and human behaviour. Applied psychology places particular emphasis on its application in real-life and clinical contexts. This course introduces you to the fundamentals of psychology and its professional application, covering important theoretical and historical issues within the subject, as well as notions of the self and identity and vital research techniques. You will go on to explore the brain, hormones and addiction, and engage with psychologists (subject to availability) to learn how effective it is to apply theoretical psychology to real-world examples. This Higher National Diploma (HND) follows the curriculum for Years 1 and 2 of the Applied Psychology BSc (Hons) degree course. Qualification requirements

All applications are considered on an individual basis and the whole application is reviewed which includes previous and predicted qualifications, experience, reference and your motivation to study the course. The University also accepts the BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate/BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma and BTEC Level 3 National Diploma/BTEC Level 3 Diploma for entry onto degree programmes, provided that they are studied in combination with other qualifications that are equivalent to three A2 Levels. This may include subject specific requirements where necessary.
