Course summary

Mental health is becoming increasingly more challenging and multidisciplinary in practice so it’s essential to be able to deal with complex situations you may face as a healthcare professional with confidence. Delivered with our partner Diploma MSc, the online Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Psychiatry will enable those working in primary care or specialist units to take a specialist interest in clinical psychiatry and ultimately improve their care for patients displaying psychiatric symptoms. It will ensure you’re up to date with new classifications, treatments and assessments that integrate psychological and social sciences, and develop your understanding of how the Mental Health Act and the Capacity Acts influence delivery of services. You will also learn plus how the field links to acute medicine, surgery, perinatal services, children’s services and primary care.
