Course summary

It’s not just TV…be part of the change and create the future. Do you want to craft the next Netflix original, develop the next major documentary, or create the next YouTube sensation? This innovative 1-year top-up course lets you experiment with new technology and techniques, just as our viewing habits change, letting you create content that you want to see across a variety of platforms. Working with experienced industry professionals, your peers, as well as with other creative courses, you will spend two years developing and crafting a practical professional portfolio that highlights your skills, giving you the chance to succeed in your future career. The course is part of the Screen Yorkshire Connected Campus. This gives you access to a range of boot camps, masterclasses, and special events, including visits to current sets and studios, industry workshops, visiting speakers and reviews of project pitches. With the North of England now becoming widely recognised as a hub for the creative media industries, we are uniquely placed with easy access to both Leeds and Manchester, meaning you benefit from a range of industry links. If you want to be the next director, cinematographer, documentary filmmaker or you want to produce the next big budget streaming original, this is the course you need. This course is primarily designed for face-to-face learning, with attendance during lessons for the specified hours within the validation document. However, there may be periods of study where the government advises TEC Partnership that it is not safe to open campuses, or there is limited access due to social distancing measures. If the campus is closed, TEC Partnership will deliver your sessions online and offer you the necessary support and resources remotely. If there is limited access due to social distancing measures a blended model will be adopted, with some lessons taking place in small groups and others using online sessions and support.
