About these Courses: These courses are designed to provide you with a thorough understanding of the electrical and electronic technologies which are used by businesses nationally ad globally. By studying the theory behind these technologies, you will develop knowledge of how electrical and electronic engineering systems feature in everyday life. This course provides advanced technical knowledge through electrical and electronic engineering principles, concepts and theory. This course also provides the higher level technical vocational electrical and electronic engineering skills to prepare you for a range of related occupations. The Higher National Certificate (HNC) course is offered on a part-time basis over 3 semesters (18 months) and can be topped up to a Higher National Diploma (HND) qualification with further study. We continually invest in modern, state-of-the-art equipment including new mechatronics and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) facilities. With industry-experienced tutors, the course is designed to equip you with the skills set desired by employers within the electrical engineering industry and provide you with new opportunities for career development, an improved salary and increased job satisfaction. Modules Covered: HNC Engineering Design Engineering Maths Managing a Professional Engineering Project Production Engineering for Manufacture Automation, Robotics and PLCs Quality and Process Improvement Electrical and Electronic Principles Electrical Machines HND Professional Engineering Management Further Mathematics Further Programmable Logic Controllers Further Electrical Machines and Drives Industrial Power, Electronics and Storage Embedded Systems Further Electrical Principles, Electronic and Digital Principles Utilisation of Electrical Power Progression: Go into employment as an electrical engineer or other engineering related occupations Progress to an Engineering degree Enhance you career opportunities and help meet aspirations to become a supervisor or manager Entry Requirements: Level 4 HNC -A relevant Level 3 Qualification HND -The HND is and 18-month top-up from the HNC Electrical and Electronic Engineering. The units gained on your HNC must be transferable to suit the HND matrix. Qualification requirements

Entry requirements for the HNC: •A full Level 3 qualification to include a minimum of BTEC Subsidiary Diploma in Engineering or a related subject •Level 3 Maths and Electrical Principles or a minimum of two A-Level equivalents in relevant subjects (e.g. Maths, Electronics, Physics) Entry requirements for the HND: •The HND is a one year top-up from the HNC Electrical and Electronic Engineering. The units gained on your HNC must be transferable to suit the HND matrix •Those with significant work experience in the industry may also be considered following interview to assess suitability for the course
