Games Development (including a Foundation Year) at University of Chester - UCAS

Course summary

Create and develop the next generation of innovative video games for one of the fastest growing industries worldwide on this British Computer Society (BCS), The Chartered Institute for IT, accredited course. Our Games Development degree aims to produce industry-ready graduates with all the skills, knowledge and experience required to successfully enter a career in computer games development. Our game development course teaches the programming, design, artistic and professional skills used across the industry, with the same tools and software used by realworld developers. There is a focus on creating full, portfolio ready work, integrating all taught skills into individual and group-based projects. The Department of Computer Science is innovative and forward-thinking. In addition to receiving tutoring, mentoring, guidance and support from academic staff, you may also experience events featuring industry professionals, or perhaps work on an extracurricular project such as a game jam with your peers. You will also have the opportunity to either complete a five-week work placement or work for a client with support from our Informatics Centre (an on-site software development team) on a team-based project. Foundation Year courses have been designed for students who do not have the necessary academic qualifications needed to enter directly into the first year of a degree but who have the ability and commitment to do so. Once the Foundation Year has been completed successfully, you can then go on to complete your degree.
