Course summary

What is Skills for Freelance Writers PgCert? This course will help you to develop a range of professional skills in order to become a successful creative freelance practitioner. You’ll learn under a highly skilled team of professional, published writers. With a strong focus on project work and skills development, you’ll acquire the confidence you need to thrive in the freelance industry. You’ll benefit from regular guest speakers from publishing, arts management, agencies and funders who will share their industry knowledge and expertise. Study Style This course is delivered online through a combination of small group seminars, discussion based lectures and independent study. You’ll be assessed through essays designed to build on your pitching and fundraising skills. You’ll work through modules that may be taken individually and in any order you choose.


Entry requirements

At least a 2.2 honours degree equivalent in this subject area. Or a relevant level 6 qualification. EU and international students need IELTS 6.5 overall (with a minimum of 6.0 in writing and 5.5 in any other component) or equivalent. Relevant work experience will also be taken into consideration
