Course summary
Cyber physical systems is an area of computer science that is growing. Our course combines computer science knowledge with specialist skills in cyber physical systems. The key topics covered will include:
- machine learning
- neural networks
- cyber security
- human artificial intelligence interaction
- 'smart' devices in the home such as a smart meter or fridge
- voice assistant devices
- driverless vehicles
- medical monitoring equipment
- wearable devices
- robotic assistants
Modules
In the first year, you will be introduced to the fundamentals of artificial intelligence, software engineering and programming and algorithms. Examples of these systems include 'smart' devices such as a smarts, voice assistant devices and driverless vehicles. In your second year, you will study more advanced modules in artificial intelligence. This will build on your knowledge from the first year. Year three offers a wide range of flexibility. We offer lots of optional modules so you can choose what you study and tailor your degree to your own interests. In year four, you'll deepen your studies in computer science and choose from a wide range of optional modules to tailor your MSci year to your own interests.
