Course summary

This Early Years Care and Education BA (Hons) top-up aims to complement work completed on the Early Years Foundation Degree (FdA) and other similar courses. It allows you to consolidate knowledge necessary to function as an operational manager. The modules focus on leadership practice and allow you to experience practical activities designed to improve quality within the setting, as well as contributing to personal and professional development. You will have the opportunity to choose activities and research topics which relate directly to situations in the workplace and allow you to make changes under the guidance of experienced managers in child care practice. Once you have graduated you will have a full honours degree and be ready to progress into management positions in nurseries, hospices and reception classes. The positions include operational management with responsibility for quality improvement, planning and implementing change and reviewing the outcomes and classroom support in the school as a SEND worker.
