You’ll learn about finance and investment, its role in business and society, and explore core elements of the subject such as financial fundamentals, principles and markets, and explore topics such as data analysis, econometrics, derivatives, portfolio and risk management. You can also choose to focus on specialist areas such as business law and corporate strategy or learn more about new and developing areas of finance like FinTech. Modules
Stage 1 Your first year is designed to provide you with a solid foundation in the understanding of finance and investment such as economics for business, quantitative methods, an introduction to data analysis and statistics, the fundamentals of finance and investments and the fundamentals of accounting. Stage 2 Your second year becomes more specialised, allowing you to develop your critical thinking of accounting and finance with greater emphasis on the key concepts and theories to develop intellectual agility and provides an opportunity to apply theory to practice. Stage 3 Your final year allows you to develop your specialist knowledge of finance and investment with flexibility to choose modules covering topics such as business law and employment rights, behavioural finance and consultancy skills and practice. There is also a detailed research project as an option as part of this final stage.
