City of Sunderland College has opted into the TEF and received a Silver award.
The programme is designed for students who wish to develop their knowledge of the exciting scientific and technical developments currently taking shape within the global horticultural industry. A focus on enterprise and research encourages independent learning, with investigation into sustainably or the use of green infrastructure to improve the urban environment. This could lead to career opportunities in consultancy, local authority, landscape management and contract management.
The program will include formal teaching strategies such as lectures, seminars, written assignments, presentations, and discussion boards. In addition, significant informal and experiential learning through focused session planning in the wider environment. The following modules will be covered

- Contemporary Issues in Horticulture
- Advanced Plant Use and Implementation
- Industrial Experience
Your progress will be assessed by a range of methods including presentations, portfolios, dissertation, report writing and project work.
