Designed for today's independent, self-motivated musicians and artists, this course focuses primarily on technique, performance, composition, production and business. Alongside music creation, musicians are empowered to develop a strategic approach to sustainable careers in the new music industry. We regret that this course is not currently available to applicants who’d require a Student Visa. However, we also offer BA(Hons) Career Musician on a 2-year, full-time distance learning basis, and this is open to everyone. Modules
Year One The first year of study focuses on developing well-rounded skills and techniques in performing, composition and production, alongside an exploration of traditional and current music industry practice. Modules · Your Music · Your Music Industry · Your Musical Development · Your Strategy Year Two The second year of the course continues to prioritise musical development in your chosen specialism (guitar, bass, drums, vocals, songwriting, production), but the focus shifts towards the development of a personal style and the exploration of innovation in music and business. Modules · Who Are You? · Making Things Happen · Innovation in Music · Innovation in Music Industry Year Three The third year of the course moves towards the musician fully taking charge of the direction of their musical and project work. This year is a bridge into your future employment.
