Course summary

Develop essential knowledge and skills in a range of areas of business and management and prepare for a successful career with our brand-new foundation degree course in Peterborough. Business and management is an incredibly broad and varied field. By studying at ARU Peterborough, you will gain the knowledge and skills you need to analyse and solve problems – and forge ahead in your career. We’ll cover important aspects of business and management, including organisational structures objectives, and performance to enable you to add value quickly in a variety of business and managerial roles. The course will enable you to apply a commercial mind-set to sustainable business practice. You’ll explore the strategic importance of human resource and people management, as well as contemporary issues such as globalisation, sustainability, entrepreneurship and innovation, social responsibility, diversity, ethics, and risk management. As well as looking at how businesses operate, our FdSc Business and Management degree has a strong focus on learning and development. You’ll acquire a comprehensive understanding of the way individuals – as well as organisations – learn, develop, and grow. As part of this we’ll discuss human resource development and performance improvement. While studying with us, you’ll become adept at using communication and information technology effectively for business. You’ll also become familiar with standards of professional practice in a range of scenarios, for example as an employee advocate, HR practitioner or a consultant. Our foundation degree also offers a progression route (with 50% or higher overall grade) to our BSc (Hons) Business and Management. 195 credits will be awarded on progression.
