- Serious about sports coaching? This Sports Coaching & Performance Foundation Entry degree will develop your academic knowledge, skills and understanding of the coaching process.
- Foundation Entry degree courses are ideal if you’ve got the ability to study for a degree, but don’t have the necessary formal qualifications to directly join an honours programme. It’s a great stepping stone to a full degree.
- You’ll explore coaching in a range of settings, including community, grassroots, elite, international and disability sport.
- You’ll develop transferable vocational skills as you progress through the programme.
- There’s also the option to specialise in specific areas that interest you, from match analysis, strength and conditioning to sports psychology and sport and international development.

Year 1: Introduction to Sports Coaching, Essential Study Skills for Lifelong Learning, Professional Work Environments for Sport, Practical Sport, Exercise and Physical Activity Year 2: Improving Performance, Coaching Toolkit, The Development Environment Year 3: The Reflective Coach, Research and Enterprise for Sport. Minimum of 2 options from: Talent Pathways, Performance Enhancement, Applied Performance Analysis, Coaching Practice Experience I. Maximum of 1 option from: Sport and International Development, School and Community Sports Development Year 4: Research Project OR Consultancy Project OR Entrepreneurship and Enterprise for Sport, Health and Wellbeing, The Critically Reflective Coach. Options from: The Performance Environment, Applied Performance Analysis for High Performance Sport, Talent Development Systems, Coaching Practice Experience II
