Course summary
This course will support you to become a confident and competent midwife, equipped to respond to the changing needs of mothers, babies, their families and the midwifery profession. Your comprehensive education in midwifery will lead to a professional qualification that incorporates the leadership and management skills that allow you to register with the Nursing and Midwifery Council as a qualified midwife. You will become an autonomous, evidence-based and research-aware practitioner, able to deliver excellent care and respond to the challenges of midwifery. The programme provides you with a range of experiences of person-centred midwifery care and excellent career opportunities that allow you to work within the UK and abroad.

Assessment method
Assessment in both theory and practice is continuous. Assessment of theory procedures includes assignments, seminar presentations, advanced notice examinations and viva voce assessments. Practice assessment is facilitated by practice assessors supported by academic assessors.
