Veterinary Bioscience (with access to Veterinary Medicine) (Extended)

Course summary

Extended degree programmes are a means of accessing degree study should you not meet the entry requirements for honours degree programmes. The extended degree in Veterinary Bioscience (with access to Veterinary Medicine) provides a preparatory year for students hoping to transfer to the Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery (BVetMS) degree at the Harper and Keele Veterinary School. It is intended for students with a strong academic track record who may not have followed a traditional science-based curriculum at Level 3, and/or those who lack relevant work or subject-specific experience. Candidates will be required to successfully pass an MMI assessment during the first year of study and pass the preparatory year with a minimum of 70% overall to be able to progress to the Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery (BVetMS) degree at the Harper and Keele Veterinary School. Those candidates who are unsuccessful will be able to progress to the BSc (Hons) Veterinary Bioscience course.
