International development is a field dedicated to improving the living conditions of the world's population and is essential to comprehend the moral, practical and political key challenges that affect the world, such as climate change and inequality. In response to these key challenges, our exciting interdisciplinary programme combines the study of international relations and human geography to neatly encapsulate the practical, subject-based and analytical knowledge that is pertinent for those aspiring to pursue careers in international development (practice, policy, or academia), charity, media or policy sectors. Our interdisciplinary course encourages you to explore the significance of international relations and human geography as subjects in addition to the different approaches and methods used in each. From international power and systems to climate change and political contexts within developing states, International Development at Keele will provide you with an extensive grounding in how development practice sits within global structures and systems as well as equipping you with the skills to carry out research and practice in the field.
