Course summary
This 3 year degree in Health Sciences will develop students’ knowledge of the human body in health and disease and provide the foundation for future studies in a variety of health care and health science disciplines as well as providing the an underpinning for postgraduate study in health management and leadership. This course will develop your understanding of disease process and the types of clinical care appropriate to treat different conditions. You will build your knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, research, ethics and leadership within a specialist health sciences university with opportunities to learn with and from practicing clinicians, scientists, researchers and other health focused students. During your study you’ll also make use of our specialised clinical imaging facilities, and come face to face with real human anatomy at our dedicated prosection facility. There are practical classes and lab sessions where you can learn and practice your diagnostic and therapeutic skills with our tutors on hand to help. Your study will be split between lectures, labs and classes along with directed and self-directed study and clinical observations. Completion of this course will allow you to apply to join one of AECC University College’s pre-registration degree courses or a number of other post graduate pre and post registration degrees to suit your chosen field of healthcare subject to meeting individual entry criteria and successful selection.
