Course summary
The BTEC HNC Construction and the Built Environment course is the industry recognised higher education qualification for practising construction professionals aiming to develop their skills and knowledge. It is also suitable for trainees aspiring to work or progress a career in site management, surveying, quantity surveying, estimating, facility management and project management and design. Successful completion of the course will allow students to gain a sound understanding of the technical, legal and scientific principles of construction. Assessment method
The units are integrated into a programme of continuous assessment through assignments and timed tests. There are several components to the assessment, both theoretical and practical.

Applicants would normally be expected to have a Level 3 qualification which could include BTEC Extended Diploma or City & Guilds Advanced Technical Extended Diploma in a related subject, T Level in Design, Surveying and Planning for Construction or at least two A Levels (grade A-E).

All applicants will complete familiarisation exercises and will be interviewed prior to a place being offered. Applicants will be assessed on individual experience and will be expected to demonstrate an ability to study at higher education level and demonstrate a strong interest in the construction industry.
