In an exciting and opportunity-filled musical landscape, this programme gives you the skills, depth of knowledge and practical experience you need to work within the music industry. On completion, you will have the confidence to succeed in a wide range of roles within the music industry. The programme includes the production, manufacture, marketing and distribution of music as well as setting up a record label. You also gain the knowledge necessary to develop, budget and execute live performances and tours from start to finish. Other highlights include in-depth knowledge of Intellectual Property (IP) law with a particular focus on copyright since this has a high relevance to the music industry; advanced knowledge of the structure of the industry and the relationships between record labels, music publishing and the live sector; how to negotiate music industry contracts and deals; as well as identifying your own career opportunities and having a strategy for succeeding in your chosen field. You will set up a complete business as part of this programme from proposal to implementation.
