Course summary

This course is designed for students who want to work in the public services and for those who have an interest in entering the world of criminology and related public services employment. It will allow you to understand how society functions and how criminals are conditioned to behave and the role of public services in a changing society. It will also look at how the public services can use this same information to be more effective in the fight against crime. You will finish with a relevant theoretical and practical knowledge that enables you to progress to a relevant final year top-up degree. Upon successful completion of this course you can top-up to a full Honours Degree by studying the BSc (Hons) Top-up Public Services at Exeter College, BSc (Hons) Community & Public Services Management (City College Plymouth), or BSc (Hons) Emergency Sector Management & Interoperability (Cornwall College).
