What will I study? With a strong business studies foundation, this course will take you through the targeting and positioning of brands, paying attention to issues like market competition and saturation. You’ll explore sport commercialisation through broadcast, sponsorship and branding arrangements and cover the management of digital media, exploring the role it has to play in sports marketing. You’ll also look at how to measure marketing campaign effectiveness using market research techniques and digital analytics. You’ll learn all about business management and spend time looking at the impact of emerging markets and the process companies use to explore the potential of moving into international markets. We’ll also cover strategic sport management and finance plus the regulation of sport business – crucial parts of any marketer’s role, whatever the industry context. How will I be taught and assessed? You’ll work towards two qualifications at the same time on this course - we have CIM modules embedded within our degree modules so once you’ve graduated you can register with the CIM. You’ll go to CIM events, work with industry leaders and, joining students from our other Business degrees, you’ll get vital experience while developing your business skills. We always make sure you've one-to-one teaching with our lecturers - at BNU we build relationships where lecturers know their students by name, not by number. You’ll be taught via lectures, interactive seminars, workshops, small group activities and classroom debates. Every stage of the programme is also supported by e-learning material. What are my career prospects? Our BA (Hons) Sport Business Management course will help prepare you for a range of career possibilities. You’ll be qualified to work in sports administration role within national governing bodies of sport. Marketing, advertising and sponsorship positions in agencies and commercial sports businesses will be a natural fit for you too.
