Course summary
The purpose of Pearson BTEC Higher Nationals in Construction is to develop students as professional, self-reflecting individuals who are able to meet the demands of employers in the rapidly evolving construction sector and adapt to a constantly changing world. The qualifications also aim to widen access to higher education and enhance the career prospects of those who undertake them. This course is designed for those wishing to progress within the construction industry and aims to give you a solid understanding of the management and leadership roles within this sector. During your studies you will gain the knowledge that underpins a wide range of aspects of construction management, including regulatory, legal, technological, social and economic considerations. Higher Nationals in Construction will give students experience of the breadth and depth of the sector that will prepare them for employment, progression within employment or further study

Some of the assessment methods that could be used are: ● work-based projects ● written assignments - reports - briefing documents - planning documents - design documents - solutions to construction problems through discourse and/or calculation ● presentations, vivas, role plays supported by an observer’s statement and/or video evidence ● portfolios ● reflective statements ● production of artefacts ● work logbooks ● witness statements.

Qualification requirements
32-48 UCAS points from relevant Level 3 qualifications OR Construction, Civil Engineering or Building Services BTEC Level 3 Diploma OR Equivalent Level 3 qualification. We welcome applications from mature students who will be considered individually on experience rather than qualifications.
