Course summary
The combination of international business and applied economics on the MSc International Business Economics degree aims to provide an overview of the international world of business and a solid foundation for a career in international commerce, or as an applied/business economist. This programme is designed for those without a strong Economics or Econometrics background. Students with a business background will however have the opportunity to expand upon their knowledge of the international business environment using an economics lens of analysis. The programme aims to provide a grounding in aspects of econometrics, business economics, the international business environment, the multinational enterprise and international finance. The emphasis of the course is on applying economic knowledge, skills and techniques to analyse the instruments, participants and markets in international business.

Assessment method
Exams are a key element of the course. Examinations may be in the format of Unseen open or closed book exams, Essays, Short answer and/or multiple choice questions or diagrams Dissertations, exercises and in-class tests will also be used as methods of assessment.
Entry requirements
First or second class honours degree. Students from quantitative social sciences, engineering and IT backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Students are expected to demonstrate a sound working knowledge of mathematics and statistics. International students will require English language at IELTS 6.0 with no less than 5.5 in each element, or equivalent.
