Course summary
Choosing the Eighteenth-Century pathway allows you to specialise in the history and culture of the long eighteenth century through interdisciplinary study encompassing literature, history, philosophy and visual and material culture. You will be introduced to concepts and issues central to current research, and will study the unique collection of early women's writing at Chawton House; the former home of Jane Austen's brother.

Assessment method
Coursework involving extended essays, oral presentations, practical tests and a 15, 000-word dissertation.
Entry requirements
First or upper second-class degree or an equivalent standard in other qualifications approved by the University in English literature or a cognate discipline
