Modules

Assessment method

You will be taught via lectures, tutorials and laboratory practical sessions and demonstrations held in one of our well-equipped laboratories. Project work is frequently carried out using the same equipment and test rigs used for advanced research at the university. Throughout your studies, you will have the opportunity to get feedback through weekly SAIL (Score as I Learn) assignments, so you will feel confident in your studies and be able to access support when you need it. A variety of additional assessment strategies to test your ability to apply knowledge and skills is used. Whenever possible, you will be given individual feedback (written and/or verbal) on your progress and your completed coursework prior to formal assessment.


Entry requirements

Entry requirements for this course are normally: * An Honours degree (2:1 or above) in one of the following subjects or a closely related science subject area or an equivalent professional qualification requiring a high level of numeracy (Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science). * You are also encouraged to apply if you have other qualifications and/or experience and can demonstrate that you are equipped with knowledge and skills equivalent to Honours degree level.


English language requirements

If your first language is not English, you will need to meet the minimum requirements of an English Language qualification. The minimum for IELTS is 7.0 overall with no element lower than 6.5, or equivalent will be considered acceptable.
