The course is designed to build upon the technical skills gained through previous study at Level 3 and discover the enablers to a successful business start up. BTEC Higher Nationals are designed to provide a clear line of site to employment such as running your own business, being an organisation manager, or starting up an entrepreneurial venture. This is an excellent opportunity to develop business management and employability skills for your chosen career. BTEC Higher Nationals provide nationally recognised qualifications offering excellent career progression within the industry of your choice. Employability skills such as leadership, team working and entrepreneurialism as well as practical hands-on skills have been built into the design of the qualification. This enables students to develop a portfolio of evidence demonstrating the breadth of their skills and knowledge in a way that equips them for employment.

Assessment method

Pearson BTEC HNC combines a student-centred approach with a flexible, unit-based structure. Students are required to apply their knowledge to a variety of assignments and activities, with a focus on the holistic development of practical, interpersonal and higher level thinking skills. Assessment reflects not only what the student knows, but also what they can do, in employment.
