Course summary

Our MSc in Microelectronics will develop your knowledge and understanding of fundamental and advanced topics in Microelectronics, such as Advanced Electronic Devices, VLSI Circuits and Systems Design. Our innovative skills-based MSc has been carefully designed to meet the needs of the modern microelectronics industry, giving you an advanced education and enhancing your employability. You will also gain an appreciation of emerging application-specific electronic applications, such as those in Biomedical and Artificial Intelligence. Delivery: We have a multidisciplinary approach to teaching and you will engage with students across key engineering disciplines as well as being taught by senior industry experts, from network operators to solution developers, and from infrastructure manufacturers to consultants. This offers a rich and diverse learning experience. You will have the opportunity to carry out research and development projects in multi-million-pound state-of-the-art facilities, and work alongside active collaborations between the University and industry. This course consists of compulsory modules and an individual project. Assessment is by written examination at the end of each semester, coursework, and a project and dissertation conducted in association with one of the School's research groups. Our modules are taught by block delivery, allowing you to immerse yourself and understand the subject in more depth. Entry requirements

A 2:2 BEng honours degree, or international equivalent, in: electrical and electronic engineering computer engineering mechanical engineering physics communications, information and control engineering optical information science and technology International Students To study this course you need to meet our Band 1 English Language requirements: Direct Entry : IELTS 6.0 overall (with a minimum of 5.5 in all sub-skills) If you have lower English Language scores, you may be accepted onto a pre-sessional English course. Our typical English Language requirements are listed as IELTS scores but we also accept a wide range of English Language tests.
