  • Today’s world demands high efficiency, quality and reliability from industry; products have to be made fast and without defects. This is only possible through the implementation of intelligent maintenance strategy in factories, plants and industry in general. Maintenance strategies are central to the smooth operation of complex industrial processes in a wide range of industries, including the automotive, pharmaceutical, nuclear, petrochemical and aerospace industries.
  • On this course you’ll learn how to apply the latest maintenance techniques to increase productivity and reduce intensive labour. As the so-called ‘Fourth Industrial Revolution’ takes shape, industry requires highly skilled professionals who are able to work and interact with automatic processes and machines; this is also true with maintenance.

Entry requirements

MSc / PGDip - Entry can be made to the course through holding at least a lower second class award of BEng (Hons) or BSc (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or other related subjects. Applications from individuals with non-standard qualifications or relevant work / life experience who can demonstrate the ability to cope with and benefit from Master-level studies are welcome. Access qualifications should normally be in a Mechanical Engineering subject or a related area. Students whose first language is not English will be required to demonstrate competence in the language. The normal minimum standard required is IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.
