Course summary

This pathway sets students on a journey through the historical and systematic development of Christian doctrine and spirituality. Its classes engage many theological and spiritual traditions and histories, from the patristic era to Wesley studies to contemporary theology. Students can specialise in specific areas within systematic theology, historical theology, Wesley studies, or church history. This pathway is a valuable resource for those who want to work in ministry, mission, or the humanities and provides a strong foundation for further research. You will choose one core class, one pathway class, plus two electives. You will be required to write your dissertation in the area of church history, Wesleyan studies, or systematic theology.

Assessment method

Assessment methods include essays, presentations, seminar participation and final dissertation.


Entry requirements

Good Honours degree in a relevant subject (exceptional entry considered). International applicants will need a minimum IELTS score of 6.5.
