Course summary
Follow your passion for dance and develop as a creative performer. Work with experienced dancers and benefit from the opportunity to perform for wider audiences. Explore contemporary dance and take part in exciting collaborative performance projects. As part of your course you’ll:
- Work with choreographers, independent dance artists and directors
- Learn how to perform, direct, organise and teach, developing your skills in all areas of contemporary dance production
- Be taught by practising artists who will advise you on producing and performing work
- Be based in Leeds, a hub of cultural activity and home to Northern Ballet, Phoenix Dance Theatre, Yorkshire Dance National Dance Agency, Leeds Playhouse, The Riley Theatre and The Carriageworks
- Study in a city that hosts regular performance events like Light Night, Leeds Festival and Leeds Carnival, the UK's second largest Caribbean Carnival

Interview
Applicants who meet the academic entry requirements will be invited to attend a selection day where you will be interviewed individually and take part in a Group Performance Workshop. You are assessed for suitability to the course, on your background skills and knowledge, and on your ability to contribute constructively to a working ensemble. The selection days are scheduled for 15 November, 29 November, 6 December, 10 January, 31 January, 14 February and 28 February. Invitations are sent via UCAS and you should check your UCAS Track account for further details.
