Course summary

Examine the earth’s changing landscapes with a Geography degree from Canterbury Christ Church University. Taught by passionate experts and guided by the UN Sustainable Development Goals, you’ll investigate pressing global challenges like climate change, biodiversity loss, urbanisation, and inequality. What you’ll learn

  • Investigate physical landscapes, ecosystems, and weather systems through immersive fieldwork.
  • Develop mapping and data analysis skills using GIS and digital tools.

  • Explore new landscapes and cultures through international field trips.
What’s more, you’ll develop the skills to collect, manipulate, analyse, map, visualise, and communicate geographical phenomena as you independently research your own topics. With a strong focus on fieldwork, lab skills, and real-world problem solving, you’ll graduate ready for careers such as environmental consultancy, planning, policy, or further study. Specialist facilities You will learn in our flagship STEM Verena Holmes building with impressive, modern science labs and a team of highly qualified lab technicians to support your work, alongside teaching during local and residential fieldtrips. Career prospects We host a careers fair specifically for students on our courses where you can talk to employers, find out about the exciting careers they offer and get advice on how to progress into those careers with the skills you have learned. Previous graduates from Geography and Environmental Science courses at Canterbury Christ Church University have gone on to work as:

Additional requirement for GCSE English or IELTS equivalent, GCSE Maths, and ideally at least two grade C (or equivalent) at A level preferably in two of the following subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Geography.

Canterbury Christ Church University expects the 2026/27 tuition fees for standard undergraduate degrees (excluding Foundation Year 0) and PGCE courses for Home students, to be set at the maximum tuition fee cap, currently £9,535.
