Course summary
The LLM International Energy Law degree will provide you with the opportunity to explore issues surrounding international energy law. You will examine the public international law rules with regard foreign investment and trade in energy; specific energy sectors (in particular oil and gas and renewable energy); and how energy activities impact human rights and the environment. Modules
Terms 1 & 2 (full-time) or 1-4 (part-time) Two week induction: For non-law students this includes a compulsory introduction to the law of England and Wales which must be completed before commencing your first modules. You will complete: International Energy Law Research Methods Training (sessions throughout Terms 1 and 2 / 1-4) You may then choose three from the list of elective modules* which includes modules such as: Corporate Governance in Practice International Trade Law International Corporate Governance Term 3 (full-time) or 5 & 6 (part-time) Dissertation in International Energy Law
Entry requirements
Students should possess a UK undergraduate degree in any subject at 2:2 or above, or an equivalent qualification. A compulsory two week induction is required for all students, unless they can evidence the successful completion of either: an LLB or equivalent; or a minimum of 3 legal modules, worth at least 80 QCFcredits that must include; English Legal System Contract Law Law of Tort English language requirements for applicants whose first language is not English An English language level equivalent to IELTS 6.5 or above, with a minimum of 6.0 in each component.
