The range of opportunities within the social and public sector are not fully known and understood amongst the graduate population. This programme offers you the opportunity to explore the sector further The programme addresses your needs and interests in the social and public sector evolution, with a view to gaining employment in this area. The focus of the course will be to provide a basis for you to explore the range of employment opportunities presented by the biggest employer in the region (the social and public sector). In addition it will provide a broad underpinning in social science and policy.

Year 1 modules include: Policy and Political Perspectives Safeguarding Vulnerable Individuals Understanding Social and Public Sector Organisations Criminology, Crime and Society Developing Concepts of Working Practice Year 2 modules include: Social and Contemporary Issues The External Environment Using Research in Social and Public Sector Practice International Policy and Political Issues Applying Evidence Based Practice
Assessment method
You will be assessed through a variety of assessment methods to enhance the experience as well as develop key transferable skills. This includes essays, presentations, research tasks, projects and case studies.
Qualified teacher status (QTS)
