Course summary

The course is aimed at Operating Department Practitioners who wish to gain a degree qualification. The programme develops current skills and provides enhanced skills development, such as cannulation and catherisation. Having a degree will enable practitioners to access further development via Master's routes, and will also offer opportunities to further career development. You will develop critical analysis skills in the Surgical and Anaesthetic modules, develop and practice enhanced skills within our simulated learning environment and develop the ability to teach in practice. You will enhance your research capabilities and learn how to write for publication. The programme is designed to give you a competitive edge in the workplace, and provides accessibility to career prospects that have restricted access via entry qualifications.
