Course summary

The Natural Sciences BSc degree is designed for students with a passion for science across traditional subject boundaries, who want to use their learning to tackle real-world problems. This programme equips you with deep knowledge in individual disciplines as well as the ability to understand the connections between the sciences. Scientists who can tackle society’s most complex problems by integrating knowledge and skills from different science disciplines are in huge demand, so our graduates will be exceptionally well-placed for employment within emerging and future industries across sectors. The degree combines a rigorous grounding in biology, chemistry, mathematics, and physics, with bespoke modules exploring the interconnections between the sciences, enabling you to integrate knowledge for new and original perspectives. A core focus of the degree is on computational and mathematical skills, training you to code, model complex phenomena through simulations, grasp machine learning and AI tools, and harness the power of systems thinking. From day one, you will apply your learning to real-world projects. Combined with specialised skills training from the Entrepreneurship Institute, this will cultivate your abilities in analysis, creative thinking, leadership, communication, and complex teamwork, providing a significant head start in your future career.
