Course summary

Do you want a career in the specialised fields of sustainability reporting or sustainable investing? The growth in sustainable investing and the growing regulatory framework on sustainable reporting and investing has fuelled the demand for professionals with a fundamental understanding of these areas. Our MSc Sustainable Finance will provide you with an advanced awareness of climate change risks, the importance of good quality data on corporate sustainable activity and the different approaches to sustainable investing. We will help meet the growing demand for finance professionals with specialisation in sustainable finance by equipping you with advanced skills in sustainable reporting, analysis of corporate sustainable reporting information and ESG investing, so that you have the skillset to meet the challenges and opportunities facing the finance industry, posed by national and global commitments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Our practically oriented programme is aimed at graduates who have a first degree in accounting, finance or economics, or a degree that includes a range of modules in finance, accounting or economics and want to gain greater awareness and skills in sustainable finance. It is also ideal for working professionals looking to consolidate their knowledge or upskill in their field. Similarly, those interested in additional study at postgraduate level will be prepared to progress on to doctoral programmes. Entry requirements

Students must attain a 2:2 (or overseas equivalent) in an undergraduate degree that has included a range of modules in accounting/finance. This need not necessarily be a degree with accounting or finance in the title. We would also be willing to consider those with other backgrounds and work experience in the sector. We consider all applications on their merits and will look at each individual case before making an offer so students who fall slightly short of the entry criteria should still apply to the School of Management.
