Course summary
The course is for all practising pharmacists registered with the GPhC who have a minimum of two years’ patient- orientated experience following their pre-registration year. and have an identified clinical area in which to develop prescribing skills. The Non-medical prescribing for pharmacist course provides opportunities to develop and demonstrate knowledge, understanding and skills in prescribing practice through independent reasoned thought, systematic enquiry, reflection and evaluation.
Modules
Module: Pharmacist independent prescribing.
Assessment method
The assessment consists of: Practice portfolio demonstrating achievement of required practice learning hours and professional competencies; numeracy assessment; examination; prescribing analysis; OSCE.
Entry requirements
You are required to have at least two years full-time or equivalent experience in the field of intended prescribing practice and should have a designated medical practitioner (medical Doctor) to support and assess you in supervised practice. Current Disclosure and Barring Services clearance by your employer is also required.
