Course summary

Physical Education and teacher training at Brighton is highly respected, with a tradition of excellence going back over more than 100 years. In our most recent inspection we were rated ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted. The course leads to the award of Qualified Teacher Status, enabling you to teach in England and Wales. You will graduate with the all-round experience and knowledge to teach the National Curriculum for Physical Education (NCPE). At Brighton we have partnerships with over 600 schools enabling us to offer our student very varied school-based training options. You’ll also be able to work with children by taking part in inclusive festivals, team-building days, and outdoor adventure activity sessions. Based at our Eastbourne campus, you will have access to excellent sport facilities and a course team have many years’ experience of teaching PE in schools. We offer a range of qualifications and extracurricular activities that you can take during your course. Campus where this course is taught Our Eastbourne-based courses will move to the Falmer, Brighton campus from the academic year 2024–2025. Students starting this course in September 2022 or September 2023 will be based at our Falmer, Brighton campus from September 2024.

Additional fee information

The fees listed here are for full-time courses beginning in the academic year 2022-23. Please note that the £13,873 international fee is for classroom based courses. For lab based courses a higher fee of £14,892 applies. EU students will be charged international fees unless they have settled status awarded by the UK Government's Settlement Scheme. Further tuition fees are payable for each subsequent year of study and are subject to an annual increase of no more than 5% or RPI (whichever is the greater). The annual increase for UK/EU students, who are subject to regulated fees, will increase no more than the statutory maximum fee. The tuition fee you have to pay depends on a number of factors including the kind of course you take, and whether you study full-time or part-time. If you are studying part-time you will normally be charged on a pro rata basis depending on the number of modules you take. If your course includes a sandwich year option you will pay a reduced fee during this year; £1,370 for home students and £2,120 for international students.
