This is where environmental conservation and management come into play. At the University of Wales Trinity Saint David, our Environmental Conservation and Management course is designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills needed to tackle these challenges. Modules
Compulsory modules: environmental planning and policy; strategic management for environmental conservat; sustainable development; research methodology; environmental law. Elective modules: energy: issues and concerns; waste and resource management; geographical information systems; coastal zone management; habitat management; the workplace environment. Electives outside programme: facilities management and sustainability; work based critical reflection; part 2; dissertation.
Assessment method
We believe that course content should involve the combined consideration of academic and vocational intent for students to develop a skill and knowledge set which is fit for the workplace. Hence, this MSc was designed with environmental managers and applies current ‘live’ assessments/events to keep the content responsive to the ever-changing needs of employers, their employees, and the ever-changing environmental agenda. This teaching style involves, reports, projects, presentations, and help students develop their individual interests within the module’s framework. Also, the dissertation is developed by students in collaboration with the supervisory team, and it is believed it should be directly relevant to the student’s interests while still complying with the academic rigour of MSc research. Finally, the teaching team are completely student-centred and believe in facilitating students in achieving their environmental management ambitions.
How to apply
International applicants
If you are not from the UK and you do not already have residency here, you may need to apply for a visa. For courses of more than six months’ duration you will require a Student visa. International students who require a Student visa should apply for our full-time courses as these qualify for Student visa sponsorship. For full information read our visa application and guides. Please note students receiving US Federal Aid are only able to apply for in-person, on-campus programmes which will have no elements of online study.
Entry requirements
A minimum of a 2.2 degree in any subject. Applicants with other qualifications and relevant experience will be considered individually by the Programme Director via Accredited prior learning.
English language requirements
If English is not your first language or you have not previously studied in English, our usual requirement is the equivalent of an International English Language Testing System (IELTS Academic Test) score of 6.0, with not less than 5.5 in each of the sub-tests. We also accept other English language tests.
