Course summary

Supply chain management is a critical business competency. It encompasses procurement of materials, processing and distribution of products and services to customers. In many companies, 80% or more of their turnover is spent outside the organisation. This course helps you become effective in managing this. It’s designed for those who will work within supply chain management. It’s also suitable for anyone with a background in support functions such as sales, maintenance, finance and marketing. This course will cover the latest logistics requirements, for example: ability from logistics managers to enhance business opportunities to circular economy approaches and digital manufacturing and the rise of sales through ecommerce also requires accurate demand and supply forecast from logistics area.

Compulsory classes: Strategic Supply Chain Management, Supply Chain Operations, People, Organisations and Technology, Performance Masurement and Management, Enterprise Resource Planning, Project Management, Case Studies in Supply Chain Management, Postgraduate Individual Project. Specialism (compulsory): Spreadsheet Modelling and Demand, Forecasting, Management of Total Quality and Continuous Improvement, Lean and Green Logistics. Elective classes: Strategic Technology Management, Fundamental of Lean Six Sigma, Product Costing and Financial Management, Systems Thinking and Modelling, Design of Experiements for Process Optimisation, Quantitative Business Analysis, Business Simulation Methods, Risk Analysis and Management, Service Operations Management, Business Analytics


Entry requirements

Normally a first or second-class Honours degree, or international equivalent, in engineering, technology, science, business or related discipline.
